Marketing & Operations Coordinator
Â
Approximately 40 hours per month | $3,000 plus superannuation per month | Remote
Campaign Del Mar is looking for an exceptionally organised, resourceful person to help keep the business moving.
This is a varied role spanning marketing, operations, content, business development and administration. Some work will be front-facing, some will happen quietly behind the scenes, and much of it will involve noticing what needs to be done before it becomes a problem.
You’ll work directly with me, Mia Fileman, a marketing strategist with more than 20 years of experience across global brands, founder-led businesses, agencies, campaigns and communities.
I work quickly, have a lot of ideas and usually have several projects moving at once. I need someone who can bring order to that pace, take ownership of the details and confidently pick up the slack when required.
It is for someone who can receive a brief, ask the right questions, figure out the best way forward and get it done. And then map each step for next time.
Â
What you’ll be doing
The role will evolve, but your work may include:
-
Updating websites and sales pages
-
Creating graphics using established templates
-
Managing the production schedules for two podcasts
-
Coordinating episode files, assets, show notes and publishing tasks
-
Managing inboxes and drafting straightforward replies
-
Organising folders, documents, task boards and digital assets
-
Creating simple systems when a better process is needed
-
Following up on outstanding tasks and deadlines
-
Assigning tasks and keeping projects moving
-
Reminding me what I have promised to do
-
Liaising with contractors, collaborators, clients and community members
-
Supporting launches, campaigns and content production
-
Researching stories, topics and themes for upcoming episodes
-
Following up on warm leads, referrals and introductions
-
Preparing background information before meetings and proposals
-
Helping identify speaking, partnership, media and collaboration opportunities
-
Keeping track of conversations, next steps and follow-ups
-
Stepping into the gaps that naturally appear in a small, fast-moving business
There will be recurring responsibilities, but there will also be plenty of “Can you please figure this out?” tasks.
Â
You’ll be brilliant in this role if you are:
Fast.
You work with momentum and do not turn a straightforward task into a week-long project.
Highly organised.
You can see the moving parts, create order and keep track of what is happening across several projects.
Proactive.
You do not wait to be chased. You follow up, close loops and raise potential issues early.
Commercially curious.
You are interested in how businesses grow, where opportunities come from and how relationships, reputation and marketing contribute to revenue.
Resourceful.
You are comfortable learning a new platform, researching a solution or working out how something operates.
Detail-oriented.
You check links, spelling, dates, formatting, file names and instructions before declaring something complete.
Comfortable managing your manager.
You can assign me tasks, remind me of deadlines, follow up when I have forgotten something and keep me accountable.
Able to respect an established brand.
You can work within a style guide, follow templates and maintain consistency rather than going rogue on the visual identity of the brand.
Calm and adaptable.
You are not thrown by changing priorities, evolving projects or the occasional messy middle.
Â
This is a learning role
There will be plenty of training, guidance and exposure to both the strategic and commercial sides of marketing.
You will not be expected to arrive knowing every platform, process or part of the business. I am happy to teach the right person how we work, explain the thinking behind our campaigns and provide feedback as you develop.
You’ll have the opportunity to learn about:
-
Campaign strategy and execution
-
Brand positioning and messaging
-
Email marketing
-
Podcast production and promotion
-
Website and sales-page management
-
Client and project delivery
-
Business development and relationship-building
-
Lead generation, follow-up and proposal preparation
-
Content development
-
Systems and business operations
-
The realities of building and running a founder-led business
This is an unusually close view of how an experienced marketer thinks, makes decisions, wins work and brings ideas to life.
For the right person, it could be an excellent stepping stone into a long-term career in marketing, brand, content, operations, business development or entrepreneurship.
Â
Who this opportunity is for
Although this is a part-time contractor opportunity, it needs to be treated as a meaningful and reliable commitment.
It will not suit someone with a full freelance roster, several jobs or so many competing client commitments that this work will continually be squeezed into the remaining gaps.
You are welcome to work with other clients. However, you need to have genuine capacity to stay across the business, complete agreed work promptly, attend scheduled meetings and be reliably available during agreed Australian business hours.
This opportunity would particularly suit someone who sees it as a stepping stone towards a career in marketing, business development or entrepreneurship and wants to learn directly from an experienced marketer while doing varied work.
Â
The tools
You do not need to know every platform already, but you do need to be confident learning new tools and figuring things out.
Our current tools include platforms such as:
-
Kajabi
- Asana
- Riverside
-
Canva
-
Google Workspace
-
Squarespace
-
Email marketing platforms
-
Project management systems
Experience with websites, podcasts, email platforms, CRM systems or online businesses will be highly regarded, but attitude, initiative and learning ability matter more than knowing every tool on day one.
Â
The practical details
- Independent contractor engagement
- Approximately 40 hours of services per month
- $3,000 per month, plus superannuation
- Remote, but the successful applicant must be based in Australia and legally entitled to work in Australia
- The successful applicant must hold, or be willing to obtain, a current Australian Business Number before commencing
- Flexible working arrangements, with reliable availability during agreed Australian business hours
- Ongoing engagement for the right person
The hours may not be identical every week. Some periods will be busier due to launches, podcast production, client projects or business development activity, so the role will suit someone comfortable working flexibly across the month.
Â
What you’ll get
You’ll work closely with an experienced marketer across campaigns, client projects, podcasts, content, offers, business development and commercial decisions.
You will have visibility into both the strategic and operational sides of the business, with room to take ownership, develop your skills and improve how things are done.
You will receive plenty of feedback, context and training. You will not be kept at arm’s length completing meaningless administrative tasks without understanding why they matter.
You will also be trusted.
I am not looking to micromanage someone. I am looking for a capable person who enjoys being useful, making things run better and becoming an essential part of a small business.
Â
A note on AI
This is a hands-on role for a human . I am not looking for an agency, outsourced team or AI agent to perform the work.
AI tools may occasionally be useful, but they are not a substitute for judgement, initiative or original thinking. The use of AI for any task must be discussed with and approved by me beforehand, particularly where the work involves client information, inboxes, business strategy, brand voice or unpublished material.
Please write your application in your own words. I want to understand how you think, communicate and solve problems, not read a polished application generated by AI.
Â

Please send:
-
A short introduction
-
Why this role appeals to you
